Soya beans are one of the richest and cheapest sources of protein. They are are a staple in the diets of people and animals in numerous parts of the world. Because soya beans contain no starch, they are healthy for people with diabetes.
Soya beans can be grown in a wider variety of soil and climatic conditions than any other major world crop. Consequently, soya beans are the most widely grown oilseed in the world. There are two forms of commercial soya beans - the whole and hulled split.

Types of soya beans Chiang Mai 60 Chiang Mai 6Sor Jor 5 -

Chiang Mai 60 soya beans are a cultivar of Williams 82 and Sor Jor 4 soya beans. The bean has a protein content of 44% and soya oil content of 20%, which is ideal for food processing and oil extraction. They are one of the best soya beans available in the market.
Chiang Mai 6 soya beans are a cultivar of Chiang Mai 5 and KUSL 20004 strains. They weigh 13-15 grams per 100 beans. Chiang Mai 6 soya beans are medium-harvest beans.
Sor Jor 5 soya beans are a cross-breed of Tainung 4 and Sor Jor 2 strains. The bean has protein of 42% and soya oil of 19%. Sor Jor 5 soya beans are less common than Chiang Mai 60.
All soya beans grown in Thailand are non-GMO. Organic soya beans are also available.
