Betong noodles (หมี่เบตง) are a distinctive and well-known culinary specialty from Thailand. Renowned for their unique texture and quality, they stand apart from typical street noodles. Made from wheat flour, they are often described as small and chunky, yet retain a springy, firm, and elastic bite.
Thai wonton noodles (บะหมี่), despite the name, differ from traditional wonton noodles found elsewhere in the Far East. They are among the most common noodle types used in street food across Thailand. Made from wheat flour and sometimes eggs, they have a yellow hue and a slightly astringent taste. Typically served al dente, these versatile noodles can be used in place of similar varieties in Chinese cuisine.
