YOOHONG

    • Coconuts grow on palms, not trees, contrary to common belief. Coconut varieties are broadly classified into tall and dwarf coconut palms. Tall palms are late-bearing and develop a bole at the base of the stem, while dwarf palms are early-bearing and typically lack a bole. Nam Hom coconuts originated as a natural mutant of the Mu Si Khieo variety.

Thailand is the only country that produces Nam Hom coconuts commercially. The two recognised variants are Ban Phaew and Bai Toei, distinguished primarily by weight and size—key factors in determining quality grades for export and retail.
