    • Durian is one of Thailand’s most important and commercially valuable agricultural products, highly regarded both domestically and in international export markets. Thai durians are typically harvested at a specific stage of maturity—often around 75% ripeness—to ensure they withstand transport and continue ripening en route or after purchase. They are notably distinct from other regional durians due to their large size, creamy texture, and mellow flavour. Durians are available as whole fruit, frozen pulp (with seeds) and durian paste.

      Monthong
Monthong is the most popular variety. Its flesh is thick, creamy, and pale yellow, with a relatively mild aroma compared to other types. It offers a high yield of edible pulp and contains small, flat seeds, making it ideal for processing.

      Kanyao
Kanyao is among the most prized and expensive varieties, especially the Nonthaburi-grown Kanyao. It is known for its perfectly spherical shape and long, thick stem (from which its name derives). The flesh is golden, smooth, and delivers a complex, sweet, umami-rich flavour with a pleasant fragrance.

      Chanee
Chanee is a classic variety recognised for its stronger aroma and rich, syrupy-sweet flavour. The flesh is dark yellow, firm, and creamy. It is commonly used in desserts and processed products such as durian paste.

      Kradum
Kradum is an early-season variety with a creamy, rich texture. It is favoured for its consistent quality and early availability.

      Phuang Manee
Phuang Manee is a smaller variety with deep yellow flesh that is exceptionally sweet and lightly fragrant. It is often chosen for its compact size and intense flavour.
