Broken tamarind seeds
Tamarind seeds are a commercially significant by-product of the tamarind pulp industry. Although considered waste from the extraction of edible pulp from the fruit pods, they serve as valuable raw materials for various industrial applications. Rather than husked, the seeds are mechanically broken and then exported to importers for further processing as a primary ingredient used in the textile, jute, insecticide, and pharmaceutical industries.
Our tamarind seeds are sourced from either single or mixed tamarind varieties. Their quality ranks among the finest in South East Asia.
Tamarind fruits (pods)
Tamarind is a culturally and commercially significant fruit in Thailand, which ranks among the world’s largest producers. There are two main varieties: sweet tamarind and sour tamarind.
Sweet tamarind has a high sugar content and very low acidity, making it distinctly sweeter. It is generally eaten fresh as a fruit snack and is not typically used in savoury cooking.
Sour tamarind, by contrast, is intensely sour and acidic. It is a culinary staple, widely used to flavour savoury dishes. Its pulp, with seeds removed, is often processed into tamarind paste. While it can be eaten fresh, this is less common.

Tamarind blocks
Tamarind blocks are a concentrated culinary product valued for their intense flavour and convenience. The pulp is extracted from ripe sour tamarind pods, with seeds and fibres removed, then compressed into dense, cohesive blocks. These blocks retain the natural acidity and tanginess of the fruit, making them ideal for flavouring savoury dishes, sauces, marinades, and beverages.
They are typically dark brown, sticky, pliable, and packed in vacuum-sealed or film-wrapped formats for extended shelf life
